IDENTITY

ART DIRECTION // ZINE-MAKING

For this brief, we were asked in a team of four, to explore notions of identity in relation to the body as identity and the choreographic relationship between body time and space.

The outcome of the brief was to produce as a team a set of photographs as well as an individual zine.

Team Members: Courtney Hutchinson, Hannah Cole, Jodie Garner

We researched the brief and took some key insights around Identity Politics, Objectifying Women and Gender and Sexuality. This led us to explore 'Choreographic Objects'- looking at the body as an object. These were our final two images.

As I was working on this project, women's marches were happening all over the world in protest against Donald Trump and his Presidency. I made the decision to use my zine to help fight for women's rights and to raise awareness of sexism, discrimination, and harassment women are expected to deal with on a daily basis and from people in power.
